I've missed these views over the last few months,

I've missed these views over the last few months, and we're simply not equipped to dig out right now. This season I bought an older Craftsman snowblower that should help us out. However taking it up to camp on a day that was going to reach 58°F was not going to get us a path to the garage. I post holed several loads into our place and when it was late enough not to upset our neighbors (too much) I fired up the snowblower and finessed the tank tracks over our huge snow drifts into the garage to sleep for next season.

Snow like we receive up on Gore Pass needs to be dealt with using multiple tools in the toolbox. A snowblower, truck and plow, skid steer, or tractor. Lots of folks I've talked to have a plan that involves several of these tools as you can only pile snow so tall. Our neighbor routinely has 10 foot walls of snow around their place when he's keeping his drive snow free.

Even if it was just for the morning, it was nice to bring stuff up to camp and enjoy the quiet and the snow draped scenery. See you again soon Kremmling!

I know it's still a ways off, and I know it's stil

I know it's still a ways off, and I know it's still covered in snow... But I just can't wait to get back to our little piece of paradise in the mountains.

I've been planning locations to scout, amassed tools and construction materials for improving our place, we even have apple trees planted in our bathtub since Stark Brothers sent us our plants during a blizzard. It always feels like a lifetime between closing up camp for the year and the first visit. But every day that passes is a day closer.

*This season we're not camping on our property though. Zoning was changed to not allow any form of private camping, even though our zoning previously had it as a "right".
