Spypoint Cellular Trail Cameras on the Cheap!

Let’s just cut right to the chase I’m looking for cheap cellular cameras to use in scouting. Right now if you have a Murdoch’s Farm and Ranch nearby they’re clearing out some trail cameras on clearance with an additional 20% off kicker in store. So a dual pair of LM2-V’s or LM2-NW’s (Verizon, and AT&T respectively) from Spypoint are about $40 each. When compared to the other options around, it’s hard to even touch a trail camera for that type of deal. That’s why I picked up a few.

Online you can get the twin pack for $99, down from an MSRP of $179 for the pair. However in person you can grab them through March 15th for an additional 20% off of clearance hardgoods bringing your total for two down to $79.20 + tax! The price extends to single cameras as well if they have them in stock. For me, this is totally worth the price of admission, given Bushnell non-cellular cameras I found to be the next cheaper option ran about $36 each. Cheap cellular cameras are hard to come by, so adding a few to your current lineup of trail cameras if you use them might not be a bad idea.

Ease of Use

Spypoint makes it easy by scanning in a QR code from their app in order to add cameras to your stable, and for the first 100 photos per camera per month it’s free. That’s right, free.99! I get push notifications to my phone when the cameras trip — which can lead to a love/hate relationship with tuning shutter sensitivity and wishing I had trimmed more branches a 2 hour drive away.

Cheap cellular cameras do have their downfalls though. At 20 megapixels this camera might not have the definition that you’d prefer. For me, they more than fit the bill, but new technology cameras have all sorts of bells and whistles like full motion 4K video and 36 megapixels! However, those cameras come at more than double the price point in order to get there. So for me, this hits the sweet spot. Most of my cameras will be on public land, and I just can’t really afford having a nearly $100 camera go missing.
