For too long I’ve taken a plastic Sterlite container of random dimensions and filled it with Purina for my two dogs during road trips and vacations. It leaves an oily film on the inside that is hard to properly rinse out. I wanted something dedicated, and the Mud River Feed & Retrieve fits the bill nicely.
The Feed & Retrieve Collapsible Food Bucket was designed for road tripping dog owners like you and me in mind. It’s made of rip-stop nylon that’s been plastic coated on the inside, has a hard plastic bottom and cinches down to resize when it’s not full. One bucket fits enough for two of my setters for one week, or one setter for two weeks at around 2-3 cups per dog per day. It’s advertised capacity is right around 30 cups of food. It’s strong with double stitched nylon webbing handles and a zippered top.
The Feed and Retrieve is kind of one of those things you either need or you don’t. If you’re moving dogs about the country chasing openers, or just spending some time at grouse camp it’s easy to see where this is a handy addition to the dog handling arsenal. No more cracked Sterlite rolling around the back of my truck, just a sturdy bag for kibble. At around $20 it’ll pay for itself the first time you realize you don’t have a pile of cracked plastic containers anymore.
